This week saw the annual Focus on Imaging show at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham. Although ostensibly a trade show it attracts both trade and enthusiast.
I chose the last day to attend this year and was surprised at the amount of exhibitors present despite the loss of two big exhibitors in Jacobs and Jessops.
It was quiet enough to be able to comfortably watch some of the talks where enthusiasts and professionals were able to just sit and talk about taking pictures. To highlight the ongoing changes in the industry it was interesting to sit and listen to a talk on how to use Facebook to benefit your business. The wish list, as always, gets bigger. I took a liking to the large Wacom tablet which the staff spent some time showing me and also the Elinchrom Quadra flash units. Lottery numbers please smile on me this week

All in all a good day out with a chance to catch up with people I’ve met on different meetings.
